As I approach my 25th year in the security industry, I have gone through many stages in this line of work, from working on venues where your life is threatened on a daily basis to working as part of a team concerned for the safety of members of the royal family on more than one occasion. I have gone from the new guy rookie, to founding and developing my own security organisation.
I have worked the venues, nobody else wants to work, I have worked the towns and cities that people told me not to work, I have had great nights and I have had bad nights, painful nights, but the one thing that the industry taught me is that there is good and bad in all walks of society, there is good and bad in all classes of society, judging a book by its cover is a mistake and the brand of someones trainers does not determines the person wearing them.
As I now enter a time where I can claim an unbroken 25 years of experience in the industry, I often think how it would be good to share my knowledge, share my learning with those that want to learn and if I can spare them some of the painful experiences then I would like to
My time in this industry is limited and when the time does come to close the chapter, it would be be wonderful to know my knowledge and learning has gone to help crate the next industry professionals and future company managing directors.
The opportunity will soon be there for me to do just that.
